OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska Highway Patrol says it arrested a 14-year-old boy who drove at speeds up to 125 mph during a chase on the interstate in Omaha.
The chase began Wednesday night when a trooper spotted a vehicle driving about 100 mph on Interstate 80, the patrol said.
The driver refused to pull over and began weaving through traffic on Interstate 680, while driving up to 125 mph, The Omaha World-Herald reported.
The trooper was able to stop the car with a tactical intervention once the driver turned off of the interstate.
The driver was booked into the Douglas County Youth Center. He faces possible charges of felony flight to avoid arrest, felony willful reckless driving, operating a vehicle without a license and other traffic violations.
The patrol has issued more than 900 tickets for speeding over 100 mph this year.
