MILWAUKEE (AP) - A 36-year-old Milwaukee man has been charged after authorities say he fired at Milwaukee police officers as he was running from them earlier this week.

Jason Gonzalez was charged Friday with two counts of reckless endangering safety with use of a dangerous weapon.

According to the criminal complaint, the two officers were on a surveillance detail Monday in an unmarked squad car when Gonzalez and another man approached them.

Gonzalez pulled out a gun and began running after the officers identified themselves as police. The complaint says Gonzalez’s gun fired as he was running away. It was not immediately clear if Gonzalez had an attorney to comment on his behalf.

Two other men were also charged with one count each of obstructing an officer.

The officers did not fire their weapons and were not hurt.
