SAN ANTONIO (AP) - A Roman Catholic priest has been removed from the pastorate of a suburban San Antonio church after the archdiocese received two allegations of sexual misconduct.

Monsignor Carlos Davalos has been removed as pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes and suspended from the ministry pending an investigation, San Antonio Archbishop Gustavo Garcia Siller said in an April 30 letter to parishioners.

Davalos is accused of sending sexually inappropriate texts to an adult parishioner earlier this year and sexually inappropriate comments to a minor in 2013, Garcia Siller said. Both allegations were reported to archdiocesan officials within the past month, he said, and the report involving a minor has been reported to the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office.

It was not immediately known if a police investigation is underway.

There is no published telephone number for Davalos, but the San Antonio Express-News reported that he has declined comment.

The archbishop said there have been no other allegations of misconduct against the priest.
