OPINION:
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I have my own about Fox News’ Chris Wallace, who recently asserted that the riots in Minneapolis are as bad as various other riots, including the Vietnam War. I was wounded five times in combat as a Marine fighting for our country in Vietnam — and that’s not at all comparable to someone who may have broken the law.
I am a former law-enforcement officer, and when I saw photos of the cop with his knee on George Floyd’s neck I was appalled by the thought of eight minutes of torture followed by death. What happened to Mr. Floyd looks like an act of police brutality. The only problem I have is the news media showing a “before” shot of two cops taking Mr. Floyd away from a wall — and then showing shots of Mr. Floyd handcuffed and pinned on the ground with the cop’s knee on his neck. What happened in between? One should ask what prompted the cop to restrain Mr. Floyd in this way.
As for the rioters, they have no good excuse to rob and burn down their neighborhoods. If everyone did that, we wouldn’t have a country.
