MEDFORD, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts man was killed and his passenger was seriously injured when they were thrown from the motorcycle they were on after it struck a parked van, state police said.

Enzo Vnicius, 29, was riding on the Fellsway North in Medford at about 9:20 p.m. Thursday when his front tire went off the road and he lost control, police said.

The motorcycle struck the right rear corner of a parked van, and both were thrown off.



Vnicius, of Medford, struck a tree and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger, a 31-year-old Somerville woman, was thrown to the sidewalk and was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries. Her name was not released.

The crash remains under investigation.
