CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Authorities in northern Nevada have identified a body found in a remote area in southeast Douglas County as a Colorado man who was reported missing nearly three months ago.

The Douglas County sheriff’s office says 45-year-old Lance Scott Durkac of Boulder was reported missing on Feb. 20. A hiker came across his body on April 28 near a rock outcropping of the Pine Nut foothills in an area known as American Flats north of Jack Wright Pass.

A search and rescue crew removed the remains from the hill with a helicopter but were unable to identify the victim until this week. The Washoe County medical examiner’s office says the official cause of death hasn’t been determined yet, but it’s not considered suspicious.
