PATERSON, N.J. (AP) - Fire swept through several homes in a New Jersey city, displacing dozens of people but causing no reported injuries, authorities said.
The blaze in Paterson was reported at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday and spread to about six homes, several of which were described as engulfed in flames, officials said.
Police Director Jerry Speziale said no injuries had been reported.
Authorities said about 56 people were displaced.
The Red Cross of New Jersey said in a Twitter post on Sunday that volunteers are aiding 14 families with 59 people, providing “temporary lodging, food and clothing as needed.”
