FALLS CHURCH, Va. (AP) - Three Metrorail stations in northern Virginia will see significant reductions in parking capacity later this month.

Beginning March 15, all surface parking lots at the East Falls Church, West Falls Church and Vienna stations will be closed for the next seven to nine months.

That eliminates all of the parking at East Falls Church, about half of the 2,200 spaces at West Falls Church and about 10 percent of the spots at the Vienna station. Garages will remain open.

The closures are necessary to move equipment into place for Metro’s summer platform improvement project. When that platform work begins, it will require closure of the Vienna and East Falls Church stations, along with the Dunn Loring station, from Memorial Day through Labor Day. West Falls Church will remain open.
