GEORGETOWN, Del. (AP) - A man who was fighting with his girlfriend shot his roommate after the roommate tried to break it up, authorities in Delaware said.

Robert S. Hill, 32, followed the 41-year-old victim into his bedroom and shot him after the roommate tried to stop the domestic dispute in their home Wednesday night, Delaware State Police said in a statement.

The victim went to a hospital for treatment of the gunshot wound, which wasn’t life-threatening, and told them about the shooting. Police were called, and arrested Hill on many counts, including first-degree assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

He is being held on a $36,000 bond.
