PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The average price of a gallon of gasoline in Rhode Island has fallen 3 cents in the past week, AAA Northeast said Monday.
Self-serve, regular is down to an average of $2.43 per gallon, which is the same as the current national average. A year ago, the average per-gallon price in Rhode Island was 7 cents lower.
“Healthy stock levels and cheaper crude prices have alleviated pain at the pump,” AAA spokesman Lloyd Albert said in a statement. “However, maintenance season and the upcoming switchover to summer blends could break the downward trend in coming weeks.”
AAA found regular selling for as low as $2.29 per gallon to as high as $2.59.
