MUNFORD, Ala. (AP) - The driver of a vehicle which hit a school bus head on Monday morning in Alabama was killed and 20 students were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, authorities said.

Victoria Faye Burdette, 41, was trying to pass several stopped cars when she hit the school bus on a road near Munford, authorities said.

Seven students from Munford Elementary School, nine students from Munford Middle School and four students from Munford High School were taken to a Talladega hospital along with the bus driver, Talladega County Schools Superintendent Suzanne Lacey told media outlets.



All appeared to only suffer minor injuries, Lacey said.
