LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police are investigating after a body was found in a car initially mistaken as a crash scene.

Authorities say a car crash and ensuing fire were reported Sunday afternoon in the northwest area of the Las Vegas Valley. Upon arrival, firefighters found a car fully engulfed in flames.

According to fire officials, a bystander attempted to rescue a person inside but the flames were too intense.
