MACON, Ga. (AP) - An off-duty sheriff’s deputy in Georgia was thrown from his cruiser and killed in a crash early Wednesday morning, officials said.
Bibb County Deputy Kenterrous Taylor, 27, died in the single-vehicle crash in Macon while responding to a burglary in progress, news outlets reported.
Taylor lost control of his cruiser, hit a wall and the vehicle flipped, news outlets reported citing a release. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“This particular case, he was off-duty, and the call came out, and he responded and tragically lost his life,” Bibb County Sheriff David Davis told WMAZ-TV.
