MYERSTOWN, Pa. (AP) - State police say troopers shot and killed a woman after she rammed a police vehicle during a pursuit in Pennsylvania.

Troopers in Lebanon County say 42-year-old Charity Thome of Richland had been wanted following a trespassing complaint Sunday at a North Lebanon Township home.

Police say she was reported trying to break into the same home just before 2 a.m. Monday. Township police found and pursued her, and state police took up the pursuit when the vehicle entered Jackson Township.

A police immobilization technique was used to stop the vehicle, but police say Thome tried to elude the officers and rammed an occupied North Lebanon Township police vehicle. Troopers got out of their patrol vehicle and ordered Thome to get out of her vehicle, but they say she refused and continued to accelerate into the police vehicle.

Police said troopers then discharged their weapons and then administered first aid until emergency medical services workers arrived. Police said Thome was pronounced dead at the scene.
