LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Crews were scheduled to start work Monday on replacing a bridge in Louisville.
Initial work was set to begin Monday on the Kimberly Way span over Little Cedar Creek in Jefferson County, according to a statement from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The bridge will be closed on Wednesday and remain closed for up to 45 days, the statement said.
The project is part of the Transportation Cabinet’s Bridging Kentucky program. The statewide initiative seeks to reopen closed bridges and improve existing spans enough to remove weight restrictions that prevent use by larger vehicles such as school buses.
The project could be delayed depending on weather conditions, officials said.
