RENO, Nev. (AP) - Firefighters have found a female body in the flames of a brush fire in north Reno, authorities said.

Fire Chief Dave Cochran has said firefighters discovered the body Tuesday while attempting to extinguish the fire off Comstock Drive, the Reno Gazette-Journal reported Friday.

Investigators have determined the fire had been intentionally set and turned the case over to the Reno Police Department.

The Washoe County Medical Examiner is expected to identify the woman and determine how she died.

The medical examiner must rely on dental records or DNA, which is expected to “take a little time,” spokesman Justin Norton said.
