MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - The body of a woman has been pulled from the Merrimack River, according to fire officials in Manchester, New Hampshire.

The department said its boat unit responded Friday afternoon to a report of a person in the water near the Interstate 293 overpass.

Fire officials said the body was spotted by person in a canoe and that a police officer had already pulled the body ashore by the time fire officials arrived.



The victim’s identity has not yet been released and Manchester police and New Hampshire Marine Patrol are investigating.

No other details were immediately available.
