ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta officials are advising residents to boil their water after a water main break led to outages across the city.

The break led to problems throughout the city, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said in a statement Saturday. Crews were working to make repairs, she said.

The water main break happened on the Georgia Institute of Technology campus in the Midtown area, school spokeswoman Denise Ward told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Police were rerouting traffic in that area, she said.

It was not immediately clear Saturday how many customers were affected.
