HONOLULU (AP) - A Hawaii man has been sentenced to life in prison for a 2017 road-rage shooting death.

Darryl Freeman, 75, must serve a minimum of 15-years in prison before he can be eligible for parole, Honolulu prosecutors said in announcing the sentence Wednesday.

A jury convicted Freeman in 2018 of second-degree murder and firearms charges.

During a trial, witnesses testified they saw Keenyn Pahio exit his vehicle and punched Freeman during a road-rage altercation between the two men. Witnesses said they heard a gunshot and saw Pahio, 31, fall to the ground.
