Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy apologized Tuesday for wearing a T-shirt featuring the logo of One America News Network (OAN), saying he was “disgusted” to learn about the network’s coverage on Black Lives Matter.

Gundy initially did not apologize Monday when he posted a video with running back Chuba Hubbard in which he vowed to make changes to the program. Hubbard had called his coach out on Twitter for wearing the t-shirt, threatening a boycott to the program.A day later, Gundy said after a team meeting with his players, he realized how the “t-shirt affected their hearts.”

OAN has been described as a far-right, pro-Trump organization that pushes unfounded conspiracy theories. OAN host Liz Wheeler caught flak recently after she described the Black Lives Matters movement as a “farce.”

Last week, an image of Gundy wearing the shirt was posted to Facebook.

This is the second public apology Gundy has issued since the end of last season. In April, he also said he was sorry for referring to the coronavirus as the “Chinese virus.”
