OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Omaha Police have released the name of the victim in a deadly shooting and more details about the incident.
Police said 26-year-old Jose Santos Parra Juarez was fatally wounded in the shooting that took place shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday in the Capitol District downtown. Police said the suspect was also wounded by an off-duty Bellevue police officer who was working security in the area.
Authorities said the suspect shot the victim before the off-duty officer shot and wounded the suspect. Police did not immediately release the name of the suspect who was treated at a hospital and is now in custody.
