BETHEL, Vt. (AP) - A Bethel woman was killed when her vehicle crashed at a road construction zone, Vermont State Police said.

Jenna Townsend, 24, of Bethel, was driving on Route 12 Tuesday evening when her vehicle went off the road, traveled through a bridge construction site and collided with the abutment of the new bridge over Gilead Brook, police said.

Speed appears to be a factor in the fatal crash, police said.
