I can understand the family of George Floyd canonizing the man as pure as the driven snow, but I have a problem with the news media and people around the world protesting and rioting, making him out to have been a saint. It’s pathetic, to say the least, to watch elected officials such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi take a knee to honor a felon.

According to Floyd’s autopsy report, he had methamphetamines and Fentaynl in his system. Considering those drugs are illegal and the fact the Floyd tried to pawn off a counterfeit $20 bill, which is federal crime, I have to wonder where all these righteous supporters were when Floyd was on drugs and committing criminal offenses. The heinous act of one bad cop that caused Floyd’s death started with Floyd’s bad choice.

Where is the outrage over the black former police captain who was shot in the head and killed? He had 30 years of service under his belt. Yet I haven’t seen any TV news coverage about him,

But what really irks me the most is the fact that the protesters, with the help of The New York Times, The Washington Post and TV news media, have not come down hard against the looting anarchists. Where is it written that “protesters” have a right to disrupt the lives and businesses of people who have nothing to do with their protests? I have read no laws about protesters being allowed to use the streets of our cities for their protests.

My solution several years ago after various other riots against the powers-that-be was to implement a new law that requires a permit and designates a sports stadium or large park for protests. Such a locaton can be monitored by law enforcement and made safe from anarchists who would destroy our cities. If there was such law already on the books, people wouldn’t be suffering now.
