Understanding contemporary racism in our fair land requires that we adjust to the redefinition of bigotry foisted on us by the postmodern progressive belief in moral and epistemic relativism (“DeSean Jackson’s anti-Semitic posts show troubling double standard,” Web, July 7). According to the progressive redefinition of bigotry, DeSean Jackson’s anti-Semitism must be excused because he is a person of color and thus someone who is without power in our society (notwithstanding his multi-million dollar athletic income). In other words, racism is racism only when expressed by Whites; minorities in America cannot be racist even if they express obviously racist thoughts. Welcome to our less-than-brave new world.
