PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Both victims of an early morning crash involving two vehicles at an intersection in Philadelphia were from the vehicles, and no pedestrians were involved, police said.

Video of the crash early Saturday from multiple points of view convinced traffic unit investigators that a man believed to have been a pedestrian on the center median was actually a passenger in a car who was ejected during the crash, police said.

Police say an eastbound Jeep Cherokee hit a northbound car north of the city center shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday. Investigators now say two passengers in the car were pronounced dead after they were taken to a hospital. The car driver was listed in stable condition.

The 27-year-old driver of the Jeep Cherokee was taken to Temple University Medical Center and was arrested on a driving under the influence charge. A passenger in his vehicle was uninjured.
