COTTONWOOD, Ariz. (AP) - A man has turned himself in to Cottonwood police after his wife was found dead at the couple’s Black Canyon City home, authorities said Sunday.

Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials said 64-year-old Donald Scott as taken into custody Saturday afternoon and booked into the Camp Verde jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.

They said Scott allegedly admitting that he killed his wife at their Black Canyon City home on Friday.



Sheriff’s deputies went to the home and found the woman dead inside with evidence at the scene corresponding to Scott’s reported confession.

The dead woman’s name won’t be released until her relatives are notified., according to sheriff’s officials who said more information about the case could be released Monday.

It was unclear Sunday if Scott has a lawyer yet.
