WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - An employee at an AutoZone store was fatally shot Sunday night in southeast Wichita, police said.
Three employees were in the business at the time of the shooting, said Police Capt. Kevin Kochenderfer. One worker was in the restroom, the other was in the back getting a part, KWCH-TV reported. No customers were in the store at the time.
Emergency crews responded to the scene around 9 p.m. Sunday after an employee found a co-worker on the main floor with a gunshot wound and called police. The victim was identified by police as 40-year-old Nicholas Blue of Wichita.
The Wichita Police Department said in a news release that the investigation revealed an unknown suspect entered the business, pulled out a handgun and shot Blue.
No one has been arrested. Police are trying to identify a suspect captured on a surveillance camera.
