MANHASSET, N.Y. (AP) - Police on Long Island are investigating who fired shots in a mall parking Saturday afternoon.
Witnesses reported hearing multiple shots around 1:15 p.m. outside the Americana Manhasset.
Multiple news outlets reported shoppers ran and hid inside stores and restaurants when the shooting started.
A Nassau County Police spokeswoman said police remained on the scene Saturday evening. It wasn’t known whether anyone was injured in the shooting.
Video showed evidence markers on the ground and part of the parking lot sectioned off with crime scene tape.
The mall is about 12 miles east of Manhattan.
