WELLINGTON, Kan. (AP) - The suspect in a shooting death in Wellington turned himself in to authorities hours after the shooting, police said.
Walter Edward Taylor III, 21, of Wellington, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Travis A. Schneider, 34, also of Wellington, police chief Tracy Heath said Friday.
Taylor was a passenger in a car driving alongside a truck driven by Schneider Wednesday when the two men got into an argument. Taylor fired one shot, which struck Schneider, Heath said. Schneider died at the scene.
Taylor turned himself in after calling 911 later Wednesday.
Heath said he doesn’t know what the two men were arguing about.
