PHOENIX (AP) - A second person has died after a car crashed into a bus stop in northwest Phoenix, according to police.

They said 66-year-old Antoinette Dorego was taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition after Tuesday afternoon’s crash and later died. Her name was released Wednesday.

Police said an 80-year-old man was declared dead at the crash scene, but his identity won’t be released until his relatives are notified.

Another man at the bus stop was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Witnesses told police it appeared the driver of the car lost control while trying to avoid another vehicle and slammed into the bus stop shortly after noon Tuesday.

Police said the drivers of both vehicles weren’t injured and remained at the scene to talk to investigators, who don’t believe impairment was a factor in the crash.
