BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Authorities in Louisiana said a search for a suspect turned violent Monday morning, leaving the person dead and a K-9 injured.

Baton Rouge Police said the shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. Monday on Tigerland Avenue near Louisiana State University, news outlets reported.

Police said they were in the area searching for a suspect. The unidentified suspect was later fatally shot by police.



A Baton Rouge Police K-9 was also injured in the incident.

Few details have been released on the shooting as police continue to investigate.
