RENO, Nev. (AP) - Authorities in Reno are investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were found in a burned apartment building early Monday morning.

The fire happened in the 300 block of Broadway Boulevard south of downtown Reno. A dozen people were taken to the hospital with injuries, including one in critical condition.

Fire officials said they found two people dead after they extinguished the blaze. Authorities were working to notify their family members before releasing their identities.



The Reno Gazette Journal reported several animals also were killed in the fire.

Reno Fire Department Battallion Chief Mark Winkelman said a witness reported seeing suspicious activity. The fire is being investigated as arson, he said.
