LIVONIA, Mich. (AP) - A suburban Detroit woman faces a disturbing the peace charge after a videotaped encounter with another shopper who was blocked from leaving a grocery store parking lot.

Paula Gearin, 46, of Livonia faces arraignment in 16th District Court, the Wayne County prosecutor’s office said Thursday.

The June 13 incident in Livonia, west of Detroit, followed an argument inside the store between Gearin and a 43-year-old woman, according to prosecutors.

The 43-year-old women left the store and loaded groceries into her vehicle when Gearin allegedly stood behind her, preventing the vehicle from leaving.

Both women had children with them.

The 43-year-old woman recorded the incident on cellphone video and filed a police report after officers arrived at the parking lot.

The Associated Press was unable Thursday to find a telephone number for Gearin or determine if she was represented by an attorney.
