NEW BEDFORD, Massachusetts (AP) - A New Bedford man has been arrested in a fatal shooting in Dartmouth, Massachusetts authorities said Saturday.

Franklin Antonio Amaya Paredes of New Bedford, Massachusetts, was arrested Friday night, the district attorney’s office said. He’s facing charges in the shooting of Jose Cortez Cornejo, also of New Bedford, who was found collapsed on the side of a road in Dartmouth, early in the morning on July 14, authorities said.

Amaya Paredes will be arraigned on Monday. It was not immediately known if he is being represented by an attorney.
