The Supreme Court ruling regarding President Trump’s personal records, including tax returns, was to send the matter back to lower courts. This means the information will not likely be available until after the November election. However, also it means that local prosecutors — and there are many of them — will find it easier to request the records of future presidents, too.

While this may be a little bad news for President Trump, it also opens the door for future harassment of future presidents. It may be horrible news to Joe Biden if he becomes president. Almost certainly someone will want to get personal records, including financial records and tax returns, from Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden. The Ukrainian gas company Burisma could likely be the first target.
