BON AIR, Va. (AP) - A woman who worked at a Virginia juvenile correctional facility was arrested and accused of helping two inmates escape, authorities said.

Destiny L. Harris, 23, was charged Tuesday with two counts of aiding with the escape of a juvenile, news outlets report. Harris worked at the Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Center.

It’s unclear what role Harris may have had in the escape. It’s also unclear whether Harris had an attorney who could comment on her behalf.

The Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice said Jabar A. Taylor, 20, and Rashad E. Williams, 18, escaped from the Bon Air center Monday through a hole that was cut in the perimeter fence.

Both men are still on the run and may have fled to another state.

Officials said Taylor and Williams used a cord to choke a security staff member unconscious. Officials said the inmates took the staff member’s keys, exited the unit and escaped through the hole. The staff member was hospitalized but later released.

Taylor, from Spotsylvania County, was convicted of two counts of second-degree murder and aggravated malicious assault. Williams, from Washington D.C., was convicted of malicious wounding and robbery.

It’s unclear whether the inmates cut the hole in the fence or if it had been pre-cut.
