SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - California emergency officials reported there were no injuries when an early morning fire at television station KCRA forced staff evacuations, an official said.

A Sacramento Fire Department official said the fire started between the first and second floor of a building at the station just after midnight Sunday, The Sacramento Bee reports.

Smoke and water damage were reported but the extent of the damage was not immediately known, fire department spokesman Keith Wade said.

It was unclear what impact there would be on operations at the Sacramento NBC affiliate’s headquarters, Wade said.

An investigator was assigned to determine the cause of the fire, Wade said.
