CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (AP) - Police have identified two men wanted for questioning in connection with gunfire this week near a Rhode Island high school.
Izaiha Ortiz, 18, and Ian Melendez, 21, have been identified as two of the three men seen fleeing from the area of Central Falls High School on Wednesday morning, Central Falls police Lt. Frank Rodriguez said in a statement Friday.
Police think Ortiz fired the shots, according to the release. Officers found four 9mm cartridge cases on the sidewalk across from the high school.
The third man has not been identified.
Both named suspects remain at large.
The shots were reported at about 10:15 a.m. Wednesday. The high school and nearby Calcutt Middle School were placed on lockdown briefly.
There were no reports of injuries and police do not think the schools or any students were targeted.
