NORTHWOOD, N.D. (AP) - Bond is set at $250,000 for a northeastern North Dakota woman accused of fatally shooting a teenager at her home.
Samantha Wilson, 32, appeared in court Tuesday in Grand Forks County. She is charged with murder in the death of 15-year-old Jonah Borth, of Grand Forks.
Prosecutors say Wilson fired one round striking the boy in the chest at her Northwood home Sunday.
Sheriff’s officials say the victim’s father, Ray Borth, as well as Wilson’s two children, both 8, were in the home when the shooting occurred. Wilson was also charged with contact by bodily fluids. Deputies say she spit on correctional officers.
Sheriff Andy Schneider told The Associated Press the suspect and the victim are not family members and that a handgun was recovered at the scene.
