KILLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Killington’s Grand Hotel had to evacuate guests because of a chimney fire that spread to an attic early Saturday, officials said.

Multiple fire crews responded to bring the fire under control while guests were evacuated to Snowshed Base Lodge. Guests were allowed back inside the Grand Hotel at 9 a.m. There were no reports of injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but it appears that a guest overloaded a fireplace with logs, Killington officials said.
