BROOKFIELD, Vt. (AP) - The annual ice harvest and winter carnival is being held on Sunset Lake in the town of Brookfield.

The event on Saturday includes demonstrations of ice harvesting from the 1800s, including using historic tools and techniques. Organizers say visitors are welcome to cut a block and haul it out for themselves.

A school club will be selling food and hot chocolate.

The free event takes place from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the floating bridge.
