LOS ANGELES (AP) - A teenager was beaten with skateboards and two others were stabbed Thursday in an afternoon fight near a Los Angeles middle school, officials said.
A boy, believed to be 12 or 13 years old, pulled out a pair of scissors and confronted a group of students near Mulholland Middle School in the Lake Balboa neighborhood, authorities told KCBS-TV.
During the confrontation, some students beat the boy with skateboards and he allegedly stabbed two students with the scissors, school police told the station.
All three were taken to hospitals but there was no immediate word on their conditions.
One boy was taken into custody in connection with the attack, police said.
There was no immediate word on what sparked the confrontation.
