PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A man whose body was found after a fire in a Jeep parked in south Philadelphia had been stabbed and shot, police said.

Officers responded just before noon Tuesday to a report of a vehicle smoking near a parking lot. After fire department personnel extinguished the fire, they spotted a body in the vehicle’s rear cargo area.

Joslyn Morgan, 43, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He had a gunshot wound to the forehead and a stab wound to the neck, they said.

Homicide investigators say a male figure wearing a jacket with the hood up may have been responsible. No arrests were immediately reported.
