BOSTON (AP) - Warmer temperatures and sun are greeting Southern New England after its first significant winter storm of 2020 brought a few inches of snow.

The storm that arrived in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts in the late afternoon Saturday and lasted into the early morning hours Sunday brought about two to four inches of snow in most areas.

Much of northern Massachusetts, however, got about six inches, and in some coastal areas, the snow turned to rain, lowering snowfall totals.

But the snow, which fell rapidly at times, caused accidents and traffic problems across the region.

Temperatures, which were in the teens and mid-20s in recent days, have risen above freezing Sunday morning and should reach the mid-40s by the afternoon.
