TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Drivers in New Jersey and around the nation are seeing falling gas prices following a week of crude oil price fluctuations and uncertainty due to tension in the Middle East.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in New Jersey on Friday was $2.62, down two cents from last week. Drivers were paying $2.34 a gallon a year ago at this time.
The national average gas price Friday was $2.56, down three cents from last week. A year ago, motorists were paying $2.34 a gallon.
Analysts say crude oil inventories decreased but that was offset by an increase in gasoline supplies, including those along the East coast. They say the lower prices should continue as long as supplies remain healthy and demand for gas is low.
