MINERSVILLE, Utah (AP) - A light 4.0 magnitude earthquake rumbled beneath southwest Utah’s Mineral Mountains on Thursday evening, officials say.

No damage was expected in the largely rural area, according to the University of Utah Seismograph Stations. The shock was felt by some residents in nearby communities.

Since 1962, there have been 17 earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or higher in the 16 miles (25.75 kilometers) surrounding the epicenter of the quake, according to the university group.
