OCEAN GROVE, N.J. (AP) - A fast-moving fire roared through a multifamily home in central New Jersey early Thursday, leaving one resident dead and another injured, authorities said.

Two emergency responders also suffered minor injuries in the blaze, which broke out around 2 a.m. in a three-story Ocean Grove home that had been converted into apartments. Dozens of firefighters then battled the blaze, which was brought under control a few hours later.

Investigators said that while the cause of the fire remains under investigation, the blaze is not considered suspicious.

The names of the person killed and the injured person have not been released. A firefighter and a paramedic were treated at the scene for undisclosed injuries.

The New Jersey chapter of the American Red Cross was assisting four people who were displaced by the fire.
