LAS VEGAS (AP) - Two suspects in a downtown Seattle shooting that left one person dead and seven others injured said Tuesday they won’t fight their transfer in custody to Washington state following their arrests during the weekend in Las Vegas.
Marquise Tolbert and William Tolliver stood in shackles and each told a judge they won’t contest extradition to Seattle, where a third suspect who police said was injured in the Jan. 22 shooting was charged last week with unlawful possession of a firearm.
Justice of the Peace Ann Zimmerman did not specify charges against Tolbert and Tolliver, who were arrested on fugitive warrants, and the two men were not represented by attorneys.
The judge said authorities have 30 days to return them to Seattle for prosecution.
Tolbert and Tolliver, both 24, were arrested Saturday as they walked out of the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino near the Las Vegas Strip. They are being held at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas.
The two men and Jamel Jackson, 21, are accused of roles in the shooting that police said erupted at rush hour following a fight outside a fast-food restaurant.
Tanya Jackson, 50, a group housing facility resident, was killed.
