LANHAM, Md. (AP) - Officials in Maryland say that a person is dead after being struck by a train.
The Washington Post reports that the incident occurred after 5 a.m. Monday in the town of Lanham. It’s in Prince George’s County outside of the nation’s capital.
The Prince George’s County Fire department said that the person was pronounced dead on the scene.
Delays were reported on some Amtrak train lines as well as MARC trains.
No other details were immediately available about the death, including how the person got onto the tracks.
