CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A winter storm system is expected to bring high wind gusts and significant snow accumulations in West Virginia’s higher elevations, forecasters said.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning through Thursday evening for portions of Pocahontas, Randolph and Webster counties, where up to 8 inches of snow was forecast.

Other areas of the state could receive up to 4 inches of snow.

The weather service said isolated power outages were possible.
